Makapu’u Tide Pools
The hike down to Makapu’u Tide Pools is a steep, intermediate to difficult scramble so this isn’t a great one for kids (or anyone that is afraid of heights), but once you arrive at the bottom there are natural pools that are perfect for swimming and even a blow hole.
It is advised to only swim during low tide and be careful of big waves – they can be dangerous.
Lanikai Pillboxes
A scenic and short strenuous hike, head up to old bunkers that overlook the spectacular Windward Oʻahu, the Mokulua Islands and Lanikai Beach!
Three Peaks of Olomana
Located in Kailua, this trail is rated as difficult with an elevation gain of over 1,643 feet.
The terrain is narrow and rugged with steep drop-offs on either side and many areas only passable with the aid of ropes. This hike has views that are second-to-none and an epic adventure, but recommended for experienced hikers.
Lulumahu Falls
Tucked away off Pali Hwy., go on an adventure hike through a bamboo forest and river to Lulumahu Falls - recommended for hikers with moderate experience.
